    The 2025 Generation adidas Cup has arrived. The prestigious MLS Next tournament will take place April 12-20 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla, featuring the top academy clubs worldwide. The New England Revolution Academy will represent the region on the grand stage. The Revolution Academy’s U-18 and U-16 squads are one of 40 clubs competing in each group, with participants spanning 14 countries and four continents. They are the only New England club attending.

    The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for Logan Moniz. The FC Greater Boston Bolts midfielder, one of New England’s best Class of 2026 players, committed to Duke in March, then spent one week training with the U.S. U-17 National Team in Costa Rica. That came after Moniz was named the MLS Next Player of the Month for November, following a nine-goal outburst in six games. The Assonet, Mass. resident has since returned to the Bolts’ U-17 team as it prepares for MLS Next Flex in May.

    The calendar has turned to April, which means MLS Next Flex is just over a month away. The preeminent event on the MLS Next calendar, MLS Next Flex features the top 64 teams in the U-15 to U-19 age group from across the country. Teams participate in a round-robin format, determining the playoff participants for the MLS Next Cup in June. Qualifying for Flex is an achievement. However, having success at Flex and advancing to the MLS Next Cup represents a significant milestone in a club's season.
