All Royal Caribbean cruise ships offer a Casino Royale onboard casino. And regardless of the size of the ship, the spaces are generally divided into a smoking side and a non-smoking side. In reality, however, the entire main casino is a rather smoky environment. It’s not uncommon to see someone with a lit cigarette walking through the non-smoking side of the casino, and there’s no physical barrier separating the two sides. So, some smoke travels throughout the space.

If you haven’t noticed yet, it’s been a rough period for the stock market over the past week or so. After President Donald Trump announced much harsher tariff rates than most experts were expecting, the S&P 500 fell well into correction territory, and the Nasdaq even finished the week in a bear market, down by more than 20% from its recent highs. Of course, there are many businesses that could take a big hit from tariffs. An obvious example would be retailers who primarily sell imported products.

Carnival Cruise Line has been offering short cruises of 3, 4, and 5 days for many years. But it is an area of cruising where it has lagged behind a key competitor in recent years. The short cruise strategy has been a cornerstone of Royal Caribbean’s plans, and something that, quite frankly, has been a strength of Carnival’s main competitor. Royal Caribbean has been offering short cruises on its massive Oasis-class ships for some time, first on Allure of the Seas.

When you win money in a casino, the IRS considers it to be taxable income. In practice, you aren’t exactly expected to report it every time you win $1 on a slot machine spin, or $10 from a hand of blackjack, but the IRS definitely wants to know about big wins. Under current tax law, if you win $1,200 or more from a slot machine, it requires the casino to issue you a Form W2-G, which is the official way to report gambling winnings.

Smart things investors can do today: 1. Nothing at all 2. Look for bargain stocks and ETFs to put money to work 3. Make opportunistic contributions to retirement accounts and college savings plans. Dumb things investors can do today: 1. Panic and sell anything

I still own 8 of these ten stocks nearly 6 years later. Guess which two I got rid of.

When the stock market acts like this, I like to tell myself that TODAY IS A GREAT DAY TO DO NOTHING.
