Ebbsfleet striker Dominic Poleon says the club will always have a special place in his heart. The 31-year-old was released by the relegated National League outfit this week after four years at Stonebridge Road. Poleon scored 81 goals in 167 games for the Fleet and departs as their eighth leading goalscorer of all time. The highlight was undoubtedly his goalscoring prowess in leading the club to the National League South title in 2022/23 under the management of former Fleet boss Dennis Kutrieb.

Dartford manager Ady Pennock is staying at the club next season. The 54-year-old guided the Darts to third place in Isthmian Premier but they lost 2-0 at home to Dover in the play-off final on Monday. Pennock said: “We just had an amazing season and I loved it. I’d be crazy not to sign another contract. “There’s been a massive difference in the whole club from when I came in. It’s been incredible.

Winning promotion for a second time with Dover in the play-offs was something keeper Mitch Walker wasn’t going to miss out on. Walker didn’t play from the end of November until the final league game of the season at Chichester. But his presence makes such a positive impact on this Dover team that they were glad to have him back for the three biggest games of their season. “It’s difficult to put into words because I think going up through the play-offs is the best way to get promoted,” said Walker.
