Few things in high school sports can provide the rush that a player feels at a state championship event. The All “A” Classic and the Kentucky 2A championships don’t come with the same prestige as the Sweet Sixteen or any postseason title chase. Still, both provide an opportunity for a program to get a taste of an atmosphere that most teams might not experience otherwise. kAm%96 >:5D62D@? CANNONSBURG Girls wrestling has experienced many fabulous firsts over the last two years. The Kentucky High School Athletic Association started the first girls state meet last year. One area wrestler advanced to the big stage, but that number grew to seven this season. AdvertisementThe growing numbers speak for themselves as the sport gains more interest from the youth to the varsity level. East Carter’s Keiona Skaggs has already grappled with success as a freshman.
