The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is almost here, but I am not convinced the sacrifices likely required for this slim phone to exist will be worth it. The Galaxy S25 Edge was first revealed at a Samsung Unpacked event in January and then showcased at MWC 2025, where we got our eyes on it for the first time. It’s expected to be the thinnest Android smartphone from Samsung and, by all accounts, looks like a slimmer version of the Galaxy S25 Plus.

OPINION: Nothing’s CEO Carl Pei has all but confirmed the brand’s highly anticipated Phone 3 will be arriving in the US this year – and it’s the launch I am looking forward to the most. It’s become a bit cliché to say even the best smartphones have become boring. I say it in most of my phone reviews, and it has become the narrative around just about all the big releases. Since Apple launched the original iPhone, designs have slowly melded into one, with most of the individuality removed.

OPINION: We’re just a couple of months away from Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC for short) and the likely launch of a load of new software, including iOS 19. The keynote that kicks off WWDC is up there with the iPhone launch as the biggest Apple event of the year. It typically focuses on software – although hardware is never completely off the table – and it’s the traditional launchpad for Apple’s next batch of software updates that’ll power the best iPhones, iPads and so on.

OPINION: Shortly after the reveal of the Switch 2, Nintendo invited me along to spend some quality time with the new console ahead of its summer release. There are a lot of tech releases I am anticipating this year, from the iPhone 17 Air to the next round of Qualcomm-powered laptops, but if I had to pick one gadget that I am most excited to get my hands on in 2025, it’s the Nintendo Switch 2.
