Briefings from Downing Street have coincided with the launch of a report from Starmerite think tank Labour Together which advocates for a “digital ID card.” They’re calling it the “BritCard.” Sigh…Defra secretary Steve Reed said this morning: “It’s absolutely something that we are looking at, and that we should be looking at” while Downing Street says plans are being reviewed.
