The Ski Hut Trail and Devil's Backbone Trail are open, while Bear Canyon Trail remains closed due to fire damage. Mt. Baldy, the highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains, is a popular but challenging hike. Hikers are celebrating the reopening of the trails after months of closure.

The site's annual national park report compiled the list using the median nightly cost of a vacation rental in the area per person, the number of visitors to each national park in 2024, and the search volume for each park on the website.

Free summer meals will be available for children and teens 18 and under in the High Desert. Meals will be served at Donald F. Bradach Elementary in Adelanto from June 9 to July 3, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., excluding June 19. The program is run by the Adelanto Elementary School District Child Nutrition Services. More information on the summer meal program can be found at https://www.fns.usda.gov/summer/sitefinder. School is almost out for summer, but that doesn't mean school lunches are too.

The Heroes Project, a hiking-rehabilitation nonprofit aimed at training wounded veterans for serious mountain climbs, has gained recognition over the past few years in Mt. Baldy with its "Climb for Veterans" hike to the summit of the town's namesake mountain. Now, the organization is moving into the Icehouse Canyon trailhead, two miles south of Manker Flats on Mt. Baldy Road, and establishing roots for its veteran clientele.
