A mountain lion cub was seen in an Apple Valley neighborhood, likely with its mother close by. Residents are advised to supervise children and pets, especially at dawn, dusk and overnight. If you encounter a mountain lion, do not run; instead, make yourself appear large and make noise. Mountain lion sightings are rare, but precautions should be taken. A young mountain lion was spotted in a residential neighborhood by the Apple Valley riverbed on Thursday night.

The City of Victorville is seeking applicants for a vacancy on the Measure P Oversight Committee. The committee oversees spending of the Measure P one-cent sales tax. Applications are due April 21 and can be found on the city's website. The selected volunteer will serve a four-year term. The city of Victorville is looking to fill the Measure P Oversight Committee vacancy. Measure P is the city’s general transaction and use tax approved by Victorville voters in November 2020.
