Under a ridge of high pressure, plenty of sunshine and warmer than normal temperatures are hitting our inland areas with widespread 80s with mid-90s in the deserts.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Afternoon temperatures are warming up each day through the rest of the work week as fog creeps into coastal areas each morning. A ridge of high pressure is strengthening over the entire western U.S. bumping afternoon temperatures 10 to as much as 20 degrees warmer than normal away from the immediate coast. The warming trend will peak Thursday and Friday with widespread 80s in the inland valleys and triple digits in the deserts.

A ridge of high pressure building from the south will bump afternoon temperatures warmer a few degrees each day through Thursday for the entire region. By Wednesday, temperatures will range from 10 to 15 degrees above average with Thursday and Friday looking like the warmest days of the week.
