DNR says new U.S. 31 intersection will be safe for pedestriansTRAVERSE CITY — There are concerns about the pedestrian bridge over U.S. 31, in front of the Traverse City State Park being knocked down. The date to close the park for construction is drawing near. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is planning to make changes to their headquarters and the way campers get in to the park.

Father Fred Foundation holding annual Garage Sale May 10TRAVERSE CITY — The Father Fred Foundation in Traverse City is hosting its annual Garage Sale on May 10. They’re welcoming the public and there will be wide variety of things for sale from toys and clothes to sporting goods and household goods. Everything available has been donated by community members. All proceeds will go towards supporting the non-profit’s services to help people in need in the community.

Traverse City police clear out The Pines homeless encampmentTRAVERSE CITY — There was a heavy police presence in Traverse City because people living in The Pines homeless encampment were asked to leave. The Traverse City Police Department was allowed to start their no-camping enforcement Tuesday at midnight, but they waited until this morning to clear people out of The Pines.
