The centre, at the Wellington campus, caters for students with severe learning difficulties and complex needs. Welsh collie, Doug has been chosen for his gentle nature and friendly demeanour, and is now set to visit the students twice a month.

Police in Bridgnorth are investigating an attempted theft after two balaclava-wearing suspects were spotted attempting to steal a motorcycle that had been parked outside Wetherspoons on the town's high street. The same pair has been spotted earlier that evening, riding around the town on a motorcycle with no registration plate.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue and West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to Carding Mill Valley at around midday on Sunday (April 20). The incident happened near Light Spout Waterfall - close to where a man was rescued the previous day after suffering a seizure. The fire service said they recieved a call for assistance at around 12.15pm on Easter Sunday, and deployed two crews from Church Stretton and Ludlow to the scene. Fire and ambulance crews rescued the casualty using a scoop stretcher.
