The has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy showers and thunderstorms for Saturday, June 7. The warning, which covers most of the south of England and Wales as well as large parts of the West Midlands, is currently set to be in place from 9am to 6pm. According to the forecasters, "heavy showers and thunderstorms" are expected, which "may lead to some disruption to transport and infrastructure".

Police, ambulance and the fire services rushed to the A442 Eastern Primary following reports of a collision just before 5pm. The incident occurred on the northbound carriageway, close to Telford Central railway station. The air ambulance was also spotted circling above the railway station following the incident. A Leominster drugs ring has been smashed by police following an operation targeting a gang selling cocaine in Leominster. Five offenders were sentenced to a total of seven years and three months at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, May 23. Their prosecutions followed a series of warrants in Leominster on Tuesday, November 26, which were based on intelligence developed following a stop on a vehicle leaving the Birmingham area on the A449 in Kidderminster.

An investigation is currently underway after a Transport for Wales passenger train carrying 66 passengers crashed into a tractor trailer at a level crossing just north of Leominster. The incident, which saw six people injured, happened at around 10.37am on Thursday, May 22. One man was airlifted to Hereford County Hospital following the collision but emergency services reported neither he, nor any of the other passengers, were left with serious injuries.
