Now Whitbread, the company which owns Brewers Fayre, has confirmed it has "exited the location permanently" and discussions about the pub's future were ongoing. The has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy showers and thunderstorms for Saturday, June 7. The warning, which covers most of the south of England and Wales as well as large parts of the West Midlands, is currently set to be in place from 9am to 6pm. According to the forecasters, "heavy showers and thunderstorms" are expected, which "may lead to some disruption to transport and infrastructure".

The owners of Windy Ridge in Little Wenlock will be opening up their garden for charity this weekend. Fiona and George Chancellor have welcomed thousands of visitors to their garden as part of the National Garden Scheme over the last two decades. The programme gives visitors from across the country unique access to more than 500 private gardens in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands.

Wrockwardine Village Fete, in the picturesque village just west of Wellington, will return on Saturday, June 14. The event, which is held in the gardens of Church Farm opposite St Peter's Church, will feature musical performances by Wellington Brass Band.
