Even mid-week, dozens of people can be found taking pictures of the cherry blossoms at High Park — a sign that warm weather is on the way. “Half the blossoms have reached full bloom, but there’s a lot of blossoms that are still chugging along,” said High Park Nature Centre Executive Director Rohith Rao. According to Rao, many of the blossoms that have bloomed already are as a result of recent warm-weather days. He predicts the trees will be at ‘peak bloom’ by this weekend — particularly Saturday.

To mark the many little milestones that happen during care, staff and volunteers at Mount Sinai Hospital aim to lighten the load for families through the Journey Beads program. Families are first given a string with their baby's name on it, then as the days in NICU go by, accomplishments are marked with a new bead added to the line.

Developing countries like Fiji are some of the most affected by climate change - and least able to afford the consequences. With 90 per cent of Pacific Islanders living within five kilometres of the coast, the impacts of flooding, coastal erosion and rising sea levels are an everyday reality. In Nasilai - a village within Tailevu province on Fiji's largest island - 300 people live in just over 40 houses along the water.
