The Wise card (formerly TransferWise) is a multi-currency debit card that’s been getting a lot of attention in the travel community lately, so here is my review. Some of us are old enough to remember travellers cheques! The days of visiting a bank before you left for your big trip to get a booklet of paper cheques and signing them in front of the teller (explaining for the younger ones), then double signing it in front of the overseas vendor to make your purchase.

If you’re anything like me, food and travel go hand in hand. I don’t want to waste a dining opportunity on a stale sandwich at a museum! However that’s not to say I’m so posh I wouldn’t eat from a food truck, or buy a decadentally sweet white chocolate Capitol Building at the Capitol Building cafeteria (because when in Rome…)I love it all. From Michelin dining to a hot dog at a game, and you can get it all here in Washington, DC.

We’ve started our Mexico tour in Cancun, followed by Mexico City, Los Cabos and we’re finishing in Palm Springs California, to fly home from Los Angeles. As I’m currently hosting 15 people, I don’t have time to write up exactly how to spend the 3 days just yet, but I will put some of my favorite photos in for now, and come back to this with a handy itinerary post.

Is this America’s best kept secret?? I cannot believe this super quick entry trick into the US has been around since 2014, with Visa Waiver countries able to use it since 2016. Why has no one told me about this before?!We just visited the US and got through Customs in a jiffy thanks to the MPC, Mobile Passport Control, app. It’s free to download and you have a separate entry lane to expedite you through the airport.

I’ve just had the most crazy week in New Orleans attending my first Mardi Gras in this city that needs no excuse to celebrate with a parade. Or in this case, days of parades that finish on Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday), because Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent. Yes, believe it or not, this week of multiple parades is all about the Easter calendar. In 1892 the Rex Parade introduced the mardi gras colours of purple, gold and green. Purple Represents Justice. Green Represents Faith.

Think Paris is too expensive? This post covers a HUGE amount of things to do in Paris for free. So you can save your euros for the stuff that really matters. Like eating. And drinking. And shopping. https://t.co/k2dowKHCTo
