    In November 2024, the Michigan Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development approved the 2025 Draft Generally Accepted Agricultural and Management Practices (GAAMPs). The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) posts the draft GAAMPs on its website. Care for honey bees is in the GAAMPs for the Care of Farm Animals. The section on honey bees in the approved 2025 Draft Care of Farm Animals GAAMPs include edits from previous versions.

    Michigan State University updated its Pollinator Champions online course with improved course navigation and accessibility features, new graphics and additional resources. Pollinator Champions is a free, self-paced online course designed to educate the public on who are pollinators, why they are important, what is happening to them and how you can help. The course is packed full of videos, articles and fun activities to guide you through the amazing world of pollinators and pollination.

    A new online learning module, Diagnostic Tools for Honey Bee Diseases, covers common honey bee diseases and parasites. Michigan State University, Texas A&M University, University of Florida and University of Minnesota developed the tool to teach veterinary practitioners the visual signs of common honey bee ailments, how to differentiate them, and ways to diagnose each one.
