This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Scott Edinburgh, a Boston-based MBA admissions consultant. It has been edited for length and clarity. I launched an admissions consulting business in 2008 — it's a family business that I run with my sister. We get a lot of international students, and they sometimes make up half our clients for the year. Our reach matches what many schools are seeing.

Google's CEO, Sundar Pichai, is doing something unexpected for one of the biggest names in tech: casually building web apps with AI coding assistants. "I wish I could do more," Pichai said on Wednesday at Bloomberg Tech in San Francisco. "I've just been messing around — either with Cursor or I vibe coded with Replit — trying to build a custom webpage with all the sources of information I wanted in one place. As the world's largest contract chipmaker, it makes them all, said CEO CC Wei. "I look left and right, and no matter how I look at it, the orders are all from TSMC," Wei told local media on Tuesday after a shareholder meeting in the northern Taiwanese city of Hsinchu.

one of my best cross-cultural moments in Singapore so far: explaining last night's team happy hour tamales as "latin american kueh" everyone loved them. shoutout to Mami's Tamales, the best HH on the island.

I once overcontributed ~$75 to a US health savings account. The IRS and I traded snail mail for *years* on it. Almost everyone I know has had a @zakjason type of experience — even CPAs. It doesn't have to be this way. https://t.co/r8VbeUlKuY

brutal time for media jobs, but BI has some cool editor and reporter openings in NYC, SF, and London. my DMs are always open if you're intrigued and want to talk about the newsroom. https://t.co/5HX5FqQ8tN
