There is some positive news today about cancer rates in the U.S.The "Annual Report to the Nation on the Status of Cancer" was published today in the journal "Cancer" and says cancer death rates in the U.S. are declining. Researchers say there was a steady drop from 2001 to 2022, but when it comes to cancer diagnoses, those are down for men but up for women. The report says all of this is due to better treatments and better screenings not only saving more lives, but also catching more cancers.

A growing number of Americans are suffering from depression. That's according to a new report out today from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC.)The report says more than 1 in 8 people over the age of 12 have been depressed in recent years. That breaks down to nearly 13% of people. And it's up from 7% of people a decade ago. The CDC says women are more likely than men to be depressed. Experts believe the rise is two-fold.
