Buc-ee's has made its way to Amarillo at the end of 2024. They opened their doors a few months earlier than anticipated. Their arrival has been nothing but good news for Amarillo. This new location has brought in many new jobs to our area. Even better news is the fact that they are all great paying positions. This Buc-ee's has also brought in many new billboards to our area. There are billboards up and down 287 as we are driving from Dallas to Amarillo.

As the year 2024 was winding down in Amarillo, there were still a lot of good things happening in our city. Those good things continued into 2025. We, of course, got our much-anticipated Buc-ee's location. We have had restaurants that have announced openings and we watched as they opened up or are about to. The circle of life in Amarillo. Even though I have been delivering food in Amarillo for almost two years there are still things that pop up that are new. Even to a seasoned delivery driver. When they pop up it sometimes can throw you for a loop. I was finishing my last delivery of the night and then I was about to go home. I picked up the food from Five Guys and then I was dropping it off at a local hotel towards Rick Husband International Airport. In my head, I was concentrating on everything I had to get done once I got home.

Border agents in Texas recently stopped a weird shipment of illegal cargo from entering into the country. Was it drugs? No. What about weapons or ammo? Nope. I'm talking about bugs!Border agents at the Laredo Port of Entry, on May 6, stopped a taxi from entering through to the U.S. The vehicle was sent to secondary inspection where a canine sniffed something interesting in the driver's luggage.
