El Paso County is going to host a series of public meetings starting Thursday, to discuss the issuance of $54 million in certificates of obligation for infrastructure projects. On March 24, county commissioners issued a notice of intent, which started the state-required 45-day waiting period before the certificates on obligation can be issued. At Thursday's meeting, residents will have the opportunity to learn more about how the money will be used to fund different projects across the county.

This initiative comes after the red flour beetles infested homes in the Socorro area last summer.
