Growing up in Fairfield in the 1980s, I remember by Mom reading me chapters out loud from The Little House on the Prairie. My older brother read to me from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. I liked to close my eyes and imagine these new worlds, new characters bursting into full color.
