First posted August 30, 2024 The 2018 Carr Fire burned more than 90 percent of Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, with much of the park burning at high severity. California yellow pine and mixed conifer forests are not well adapted to large, high-severity fires, and forest recovery after these events may be problematic.

It seems like electric motors are coming for damn near every segment now, including watercraft. Take the recent acquisition of German electric boat motor manufacturer,Torqeedo, by Yamaha for instance, as that is arguably one of the most blatant tell-tale signs that the end is nigh for all forms of the internal combustion engine. Or is it? Earlier this year, Yamaha Motor unveiled an outboard engine prototype at the 2024 Miami International Boat Show that was powered purely by hydrogen.

Not on a large scale mind you, but on a minuscule PCV grade. It was on this day that Ford filed a patent that focused on repurposing Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) pressure and blow-by in the hopes of turning it into a form of “priming” prior to routine combustion.
