When searching the pack at the beginning of the season for our old friend the dark horse, Tyrone appeared to have all the markings of a long shot to win an All-Ireland. Malachy O'Rourke's most brilliant work has usually been accomplished in his first season as manager. Tyrone had players returning, kickers and attackers theoretically suited to the new rules, the best goalkeeper in the country and the core of them already versed in winning an All-Ireland.

Not to distract from the complete fiasco this has been for the Camogie Assoc, in fairness to Brian Molloy he's the first ever male president of the organisation. The GPA is also co-chaired by male and female reps. As for a male ref, it's hard enough getting them whatever gender.
