In a recent interview, former Biden administration official Matthew Miller said he has no doubt that Israel has committed war crimes in Gaza. Miller, who served as State Department spokesperson from 2023 until the end of Biden’s term, made the comments on Sky News’s Trump 100 podcast. Despite saying war crimes have taken place, Miller said he doesn’t believe that it’s a genocide.

A couple of newsletters ago, I wrote about supporters of Israel becoming increasingly worried that Gulf money could be eclipsing the country’s lobbying power. In that installment, I quoted a social media post from Middle East analyst Mouin Rabbani. “Israel and its lobby, which went all-in for Trump during the 2024 US presidential election campaign, are experiencing a severe case of buyer’s remorse,” he wrote.

Last week, U.S. journalist Ken Klippenstein was visited by the FBI. The Feds showed up at Klippenstein’s place because he published the so-called manifesto of Elias Rodriguez, who is suspected of killing two Israeli Embassy staffers, on his Substack. As Klippenstein points out in his post about the incident, any mainstream outlet could have published the manifesto, but has chosen not to. “The media just doesn’t want to publish it,” he notes.

The protesters are also calling on their school to cut ties with weapons manufacturers and other companies connected to Israel. In addition to the hunger strikes, we have seen new encampments and even campus occupations.
