    BATON ROUGE – LSU and SMU have agreed to a two-game home-and-home series beginning in 2028 with an early September contest in Tiger Stadium, the schools announced on Monday. The teams will play on Sept. 2, 2028, in Tiger Stadium followed by a Sept. 1, 2029, contest at SMU in Dallas. The 2028 contest will be the first between the programs since 1934. The teams have met in football on twice with the Mustangs holding an 0-1-1 advantage in the series.

    BATON ROUGE – LSU student-athletes continue to combine their success in competition with that of accomplishment in the classroom as 12 teams recorded a 990 or better, including eight with a perfect 1,000, as the NCAA released the Academic Progress Rate for institutions on Tuesday. The APR provides a real-time look at a team’s academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship.

    BATON ROUGE – Mason Taylor, the most productive tight end in LSU history, became the first Tiger off the board on Friday as he was taken in the second round with the 42nd overall pick by the New York Jets. Taylor joins offensive tackle Will Campbell as LSU’s first two draft picks in 2025. Campbell was selected No. 4 overall on Thursday night by the New England Patriots.

    BATON ROUGE – All-America offensive tackle Will Campbell became the highest-drafted offensive lineman in LSU history on Thursday night as he was selected with the fourth overall pick by the New England Patriots as the first round of the NFL Draft took place in the shadows of legendary Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Campbell becomes the 53rd first round NFL Draft pick for the Tigers and the fourth for head coach Brian Kelly since taking over at LSU in 2022.
