Harris, a liberal prairie populist from Oklahoma whose meteoric rise in politics ended in the 1970s with two sputtering presidential campaigns in which he vowedto "take the rich off welfare" and keep "the big hogs out of the trough," died Saturday. He was 94. Harris' wife, Margaret Elliston, confirmed his death to the Associated Press but did not provide further details.

    As someone who battled unhealthy eating habits the first 59 years of my life, I am the last one to criticize someone for trying almost anything to lose weight. These are difficult battles, and many of us will take a lifeline wherever we find it. So, to repeat, I am the last one to criticize.     There has been an ongoing debate over whether a fetus is a human being. Even many Christians believe the Scriptures are either silent or ambiguous regarding abortion. To answer this question, I look at both Scripture and science. In terms of science, sonograms and advances in technology have provided clear evidence that babies in the womb exhibit all the characteristics of human life: they have unique DNA and they grow, move, and respond to stimuli.
