Monday morning started off foggy with showers and storms primarily to the south. Heavy downpours over the weekend coupled with the rains of today will make for some very wet conditions. We're also looking at more rain arriving for the rest of our Monday and a good chunk of our Tuesday. A cold front will pass Wednesday morning, drying us out as cold air pushes in once again. Highs will struggle to rise into the 50s on Wednesday with windy northerly winds cooling us off quickly.

(KADN) — We know extreme weather conditions have hurt the crawfish harvest in Acadiana. But what about sugarcane, which supports nearly 20,000 jobs and contributes nearly $4 billion to the Louisiana economy yearly? Is the state's sugarcane industry in jeopardy? That's a good question. The crawfish crop has seen devastating impacts thanks to our drought. But is the sugarcane crop also struggling? That's a good question, and it may not be all bad news.

LEBEAU, La. (KADN) — One part of St. Landry Parish that saw heavy downpours and flooding as a result was the town of Lebeau, which is located in the northern part of the parish. I spent the day there and learned floodwaters threatened some homes and businesses. "Had customers still wanting to come in, even though water was running out," said Joe Stelly, owner of Stelly's Supermarket. "We had customers wanting to come in and I had to tell 'em we were closed.
Iberia Medical Center rebuilt stronger after tornado

NEW IBERIA, La. (KADN) — The EF-2 that tore through New Iberia first went through a subdivision and then devastated the Iberia Medical Center. Taking a journey back to that day, it wasn't a pleasant sight. There was substantial roof damage to the hospital. Lots of windows on the building showed cracks and others were broken open. Blinds were strewn about everywhere. There were pieces of metal all over the place and car windshields were broken.
Stormy Sunday with More Rain Expected Monday

What started as a pleasant day for outdoor activities quickly evolved into a stormy night. Severe weather developed across the region as 60 mile per hour wind gusts knocked out power for some in Acadia and Lafayette Parishes. These storms are still lingering around the region, but the strongest storms are now well to our east, but heavy rain continues around the region.
Heat Lingers on Stormy Sunday

Yet another day passes with temperatures soaring into the upper 90s. As a result, a Heat Advisory remains in effect for tomorrow as heat index values could exceed 110 degrees. Humidity returns for the forecast, leading to widespread showers and storms appearing across Acadiana. We could be dealing with storms from 3 PM until around 9 PM tomorrow night. Bring an umbrella around with you, especially if you have some errands to run on Sunday.
Storms Return Tomorrow Morning

Sunday Storms gave us some much-needed rainfall in Acadiana earlier today but should be clearing out this evening. Another round of showers and storms is expected to roll around to our neck of the woods overnight, but most of it should stay to our north. Expect more showers to start firing up closer to the morning commute. Most of these should be very spotty so I don't think we'll see much fire up, but bring that umbrella along just in case.
Storms Continue For Tomorrow

Tonight's rain chances are gone, but rain is expected to return to the region tomorrow, so make sure you bring out those umbrellas, you're going to need them. Storms could be on the stronger side and could dump a lot of rain quickly, so keep your eye to the sky tomorrow. Storms should wrap up by the nighttime hours of 9 and 10 pm tomorrow night. Expect more storms to fire up on Monday afternoon.

Storms continue to fire up on our Friday afternoon as sunshine returns after a cloudy start to the day. Many of us may be seeing some heavy downpours and rumbles of thunder in the next few hours so keep your eye to the sky until these storms start to dissipate by the 9 pm hour. Remnant showers could linger in the region. Heading into tomorrow, a weak line of storms is expected to push into the region during the 8 AM to 9 AM hour.
Drying Out This Evening, Rain Tomorrow

Showers pushed through Acadiana earlier today, but persistent cloud cover really weakened rain chances for this afternoon. In turn, we now have cloudy skies covering Acadiana, with temperatures in the mid-80s and very little in terms of showers. Tomorrow we will see some coastal showers early in the morning, then thunderstorms are expected to pop up during the 2 pm hour and onwards. But much like the past few days, most activity will end by sunset.
