Findings In this cross-sectional study of 3015 US Black adults, both individual and cumulative GVEs were significantly associated with lifetime suicidal ideation, suicide attempt preparation, and attempting suicide. Meaning Reducing GVE may be necessary to address rising rates of suicide among Black individuals in the US.
