This June, Suzie and Brian Lewis will retire from the Scottish Braille Press after a remarkable combined 82 years of service. Suzie, who has a vision impairment, joined the Braille Press in 1979, while Brian followed a decade later, starting on 19 June 1989, coincidentally Suzie’s birthday. The couple, who married in 1996, have worked alongside one another in various capacities over the years, providing invaluable contributions to accessibility in Scotland.

Queenstown’s Altitude Brewing stormed through the Australian International Beer Awards in Melbourne last week. Altitude were crowned Champion Small International Brewery and took home the trophy for Modern Pale Ale with their flagship beer Sled Dog. They won four gold medals — Sled Dog, Crush Party Pilsner, Southern Lights NZ Pale Ale and Moments of Bliss IPA. In total, they had 24 medals from 26 entries with 14 silvers and six bronze.

Clayton Hops, which accounts for about 40% of the annual NZ harvest, took a birds-eye view of the industry as a whole, combining their data with that of NZ Hops’ to get a full picture.
