Manuel Edwards, 55, was riding his bike around 8:12 a.m. in the 11500 block of Gaston Road in Katy, when he was hit by a U-Haul truck, according to Michelle Domengoni with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.

White died June 1 after being hit by a vehicle while escorting a funeral procession, a news release by the agency said. He was taken to a Houston-area hospital by LifeFlight in critical condition later succumbed to his injuries, the release states.

Major cities in the U.S. with strict rules on short-term rentals are losing out on billions of dollars in economic activity annually, their share of more than $90 billion generated by Airbnb, according to a recent study. The study commissioned by Airbnb and conducted by consulting firm Charles River Associates found that four cities with what it considers strict short-term rental rules lost out on a total of $2.4 billion in economic activity.
