Thousands of Houstonians on Sunday joined people across the nation in protest against President Donald Trump's anti-immigration executive orders, marching from Montrose to Hermann Park shouting "si, se puede," - "yes, you can."Protesters carried various central and south American flags, raised signs that read "fight ignorance not immigrants" and waved from bridges over Interstate 69 in the Montrose area. They were met with honking horns from drivers showing solidarity.

Metro Rail services have been fully restored after being suspended on Tuesday due to a large piece of scaffolding collapsing in downtown Houston. The collapse, which occurred near Main and Rusk streets, left a person injured and prompted Metro officials to temporarily suspend the Red, Green and Purple Lines for cleanup. On Wednesday, portions of the light rail remained suspended while bus shuttles between Hermann Park and Burnett Transit Center served customers along the Metro Red light rail line.

Award-winning comedians Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are hitting the road once more in 2025, bringing their Restless Leg tour to 13 cities - including Space City. The iconic comedians collaborated for their comedy tour in 2023 and 2024, according to Rolling Stone. And on Jan. 28, the comedians took to social media to announce that they would be extending their tour into 2025, visiting the Smart Financial Center at Sugar Land on April 25.

The Oreo cookie, expected to hit the shelves on Feb. 3, will feature a first-of-its-kind swirled creme combining salted caramel and shortbread flavors, sandwiched between the cookie brand's famous chocolate cookie and a signature golden cookie, according to an Oreo news release.
