Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are wearable tech that allows you to simply look at objects for explanation, translation, and many other tasks. A 12 MP camera embedded in the front part of the frame can snap photos or take video that shows the wearer’s POV. The photos and video can be uploaded directly to social media and can even be used during video chats. As seen on my weekly segment on FOX7 in Austin, Texas.

Halfway through one of my favorite sci-fi novels, Charles Stross’ Accelerando, we tune in to the members of an interstellar first contact mission as they pass the time debating whether the Technological Singularity has happened yet. Spoiler alert: all of them are uploaded minds appearing in a consensus VR environment as various post-human avatars, riding inside a computer the size of a grain of rice on a craft the size of a soda can.

Things break. But a lot of gadgets and products already come with warranties that cover all or parts of it so you need to determine if purchasing an extended warranty is worth it. Small gadgets like phones and laptops may not extra protection but I recommend looking into extended warranties for larger items like refrigerators, washers and dryers, and possible automobiles. And for the 23rd year, he came, he went, he conquered, he walked, he tried to find compelling things to talk about. CES 2025 is now in the books and I’m still trying to figure out what I saw, do they make sense, and actually WHY some of the stuff was actually made. A.I. were the two biggest letters seen across Las Vegas during this year’s version of the world’s largest technology show. Unlike a robot or a car or laptop or a large TV, you can’t see or touch Artificial Intelligence.
