A MUM has shared how she managed to save £100s on expensive driving lessons by teaching her teenage son how to drive herself. Cassie Cooper, from Darlington, County Durham, has opted to guide her 17-year-old son through the basics in her own Nissan Qashqai, saving an average of £35 per lesson. Speaking to MoneyExpert, Cooper said that she and her son have been going out as much as five times per week. Over the course of several months, this has added up to savings of more than £700.

A NEW law could mean drivers face hefty fines depending on where they park. A daylighting law that’s been in effect is set to swap written warnings for citations that bring an instant $64 ticket. However, most drivers won’t be getting the tickets - with the harsher elements of the ruling seemingly toned down. According to the new state law, drivers are prohibited from leaving their cars too close to crosswalks if the space isn’t marked as a no-parking zone.

A team of enthusiasts who run a popular YouTube channel managed to breathe new life into an abandoned 1979 Chevy C10. The highly ambitious Junkyard Digs gang undertook the project of reviving the truck after it had been left to the elements for some 30 years.

PORSCHE could have some seriously steep competition in the not-so-distant future, as Chinese giants BYD are eyeing their perch. The electric car maker, whose executive vice president, Stella Li, recently claimed “our goal is to be the global number one automotive brand,” is now looking to offer drivers a premium, high-speed experience with its sister brand Denza. The first of their cars on offer will be the gorgeous Z9 GT, which clearly borrows design motifs from Porsche’s Taycan and Panamera.
