Among Jews, this is a big topic today. I want to classify anti-Semitism into four categories:  governmental, societal, organizational, and individual. This differs from the usual historical categorization of religious, racial, economic, political, and cultural. Some of the latter types overlap and frequently a few of them are held by the same person.

OK, it should be Sodom, but I wanted an alliterative title. I have shortened the biblical speeches but the gist is correctAbraham stood before God and said “What if there are 50 righteous people in Sodom, will you destroy the city” (Genesis 18)God said “If I find 50, I will not destroy it”Abraham lowered him to 45; again God relented. Abraham lowered him to 40; again God relented. Abraham lowered him to 30; again God relented. Abraham lowered him to 20; again God relented.

A friend, while discussing the Israel-Gaza situation, stated that “The world hates us’. Another acquaintance complained that “everyone” was helping Hamas. Meanwhile, pro-Palestinian demonstrations on a scale not seen since Black Lives Matter protests have proliferated across American campuses. Among Jews, there is a widespread mistrust of the world. For some Jews,, especially Holocaust survivors and their families, it verges on the paranoid. But as the saying goes, paranoids do have enemies.
