Watching this England team in the Euros is like watching Newcastle United under Steve Bruce. I can see a number of similarities between the two managers. TacticsAgainst Serbia and Denmark it was difficult to work out what England were trying to do. They appeared to be playing with a low block but without putting any pressure on the man with the ball and then relying on the likes of Saka and Foden to come up with moments of individual skill to get them up the pitch and to create chances.

One of the basic tenets in sport is that there should be a level playing field and the laws and rules of a game should apply equally to all competitors. However, you might question if this actually happens in football. On the field, the self-appointed elite teams are often the beneficiaries of questionable refereeing decisions, such as when the referee went against the laws of the game to allow Liverpool to score a last-minute goal against Forest.

It was a disappointing performance and result last night for Newcastle United at Crystal Palace. The race for European places looks like it could go down to the wire but I believe we have something the other teams haven’t got. We are United!Whilst the Newcastle United fans, owners and players are all united behind Eddie Howe, the same can’t be said of the other teams who are looking to qualify for the Europa League and/or the Europa Conference League.

Oh, how I wish the problem with Congress is trying to get them to meet at least once a year. It almost seems as if Congress is constantly in session, either spending our money or finding new and interesting ways to infringe on our rights.
