THE camp of the deputy governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the November 8 election, Mrs. Ifeoma Veronica Okaro and the Commissioner for Women Affairs in the state, Mrs Ify Obinabo, on Sunday, disagreed over allegation of assault on the aspirant. The Director of Media and Publicity, George Moghalu/Ify Okaro Campaign Organisation (GMCO),  Dr Ikenna Agu, in a statement in Awka, pointed accusing fingers at the camp of the commissioner.

Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, has conveyed his deep grief over the demise of renowned Nigerian highlife icon, Chief Mike Ejeagha, who passed on peacefully on Saturday at the venerable age of 95. In his condolence message signed and made available to Journalists in Awka, on Saturday by his press secretary Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo eulogised Chief Ejeagha as a deeply philosophical musician, an iconic cultural ambassador and an exemplary custodian of Igbo oral traditions.

A group of young professionals from the South East, under the aegis of South East Progressive Ambassadors (SEPA), has called for support from Ndigbo, for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027. The group in a press release signed by its convener, Mr John CDO Ikeotuonye, and his secretary, Dr Justin Ogoo Nwankwo said it will be to the disadvantage of the zone not to support Tinubu in 2027.

As part of efforts by the state government to ensure a steady power supply in Anambra, the State executive council during their 10th meeting, okayed the establishment of Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ASERC). This is a follow-up to the newly signed Anambra State electricity law by the State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, which now empowers the state to generate or license investors interested in investing in electricity generation in the state.
