REGIONALBy Michael PedroDALTON – St. Agnes Academy will welcome a new principal and vice principal for the 2025-2026 academic year. The school board announced the appointment of Paula Curti, of Dalton, as principal and Joseph Maffuccio, of Pittsfield, as vice principal. Curti will replace Fadia Makdisi, who is leaving St. Agnes Academy, due to personal reasons. Makdisi served as principal since 2019.

REGIONALBy Michael PedroNORTHAMPTON – Despite some unexpected showers, hundreds of people processed through the streets of Northampton with great joy and reverence for the 23nd annual Diocesan Wide Eucharistic Rosary Procession, Sunday, June 1. The event, which had close to 700 people in attendance, is organized each year by the Children of Mary and held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. This year’s procession was announced as a Jubilee 2025 event.

JOHANNESBURG - Frank “Jingles” Pereira has been remembered as a consistent, reliable, dependable, honest, strong and very caring person. Pereira’s passing at the age of 77 was confirmed by his former club Kaizer Chiefs on Monday. Jingles played for Chiefs between 1979 and 1984 and was part of the quadruple winning side in 1981.
