The cost of living is low in most parts of Texas when compared to many other states, but one expert says the average, especially in the cities, seems high but depends on a lot of factors. That comfortable lifestyle comes at a cost of about $90,000 -- that's how much the average Texan must earn per year to keep that lifestyle going. And for a family of four, that number is now about $200,000 a year in earnings.

President Donal Trump signed an Executive Order back in April that raises the fish catch limits for Gulf of America fishing, but it's not clear just how the new rules are going to be handled. The President's intention was to increase the nation's seafood output, but at first there were concerns whether the new catch limits might raise the number of recreational fishers to the detriment of commercial fishing interests.

The Texas-based home furnishings and specialties retail chain At Home is filing for bankruptcy. The company has depended heavily upon imports, and cites a "volatile" trade market as one of the reasons for its move into bankruptcy court. The retailer, which grew out of the Garden Ridge Pottery chain (it changed brands in 2014), is based in the Dallas suburb of Coppell.
