OCEAN CITY, MD. – Beach Catholics were among the throngs of faithful who gathered Oct. 5 for the Diocese of Wilmington’s Eucharistic Congress. A large crowd filled the Roland E. Powell Convention Center to hear speakers, go to confession, watch movies, and attend Mass celebrated by Bishop Koenig. The Most Rev. Richard Henning was the keynote speaker for the event. Dozens of parishes were represented at the event, although every attendee had their own unique reason for being drawn to the water’s edge.

Olympic chiefs have been accused of "outrageous political games" by the International Boxing Association (IBA) after urging countries to end links with the Russian-led body. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the IBA have been at loggerheads for years, with the IOC having concerns about the IBA's finances and ethics. And boxing at the past two editions of the Olympic Games was organised by the IOC after previously being run by the IBA.

Ski and snowboard chiefs are to work with United Nations weather experts to address the "existential threat" to winter sports posed by climate change. Last season, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) cancelled 26 of its 616 World Cup races across all disciplines for weather-related reasons. "Winter sports and tourism face a bleak future because of climate change," it said.
