NEW YORK CITY – In November, three Springfield churches sent their choirs to perform at Carnegie Hall In New York City with Christian artists Charles Billingsley and TaRanda Greene. Choirs from Crossway, Ridgecrest, and Second Baptist, along with five other choirs from around the country, sang with Billingsley on Monday, Nov. 25. Billinglsey was formerly a member of the Contemporary Christian Music group NewSong, and was worship pastor at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA.

ST. MARY – In 2020 Trinity Baptist Church in St. Mary was experiencing declining membership and had an average worship attendance of around 30. However, the congregation wasn’t ready to close the doors. The church’s biggest strength was it didn’t give up,” Pastor Ed Carter says. “It kept on going even though (the members) knew they didn’t have much strength or power left.”St. Mary is about an hour and a half south of St. Louis. Carter became the church’s pastor in August 2020.

MANKATO, Minn./COLUMBIA, Mo. – Columbia’s Anthem Church is a fairly young Missouri Baptist church that’s putting an emphasis on missions, missions training, and church planting. Though it was a church plant itself just seven years ago, it’s already starting to grow other churches and recently sent members to Mankato, Minn., to aid a new work in the hometown of Minnesota State University. A member of the Heart of Missouri Baptist Association, Anthem is also a Salt Network church.

OZARK – Often, the most desperate places on earth are thought of as places for missionaries and ministries to see people saved. But a retirement home for Missouri Baptists can also be a mission field. The Baptist Home in Ozark is the ministry area of campus maintenance director Joe Sisneros. Besides his full time duties keeping the home’s physical plant operating well, he also assists campus pastor Ron Adrian with chapel services and is a seminary student, church planter and bi-vocational pastor.
