GLADSTONE, Mich. (WLUC) - The newest business in Gladstone, Sip 906 Nutrition, has only been open for a couple of months. Since opening, the drink shop has grown a dedicated fan base. Owner Sage Clark says that since opening the shop, it has already gained many regular customers. MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The tenth and last Art Week in Marquette is in full swing, but the Marquette Arts and Culture Center has a new project that has just begun. Marquette Arts and Culture Center Arts and Senior Services Coordinator Tristan Luoma says many of the Art Week activities will continue in the future. Starting at the mouth of the Carp River and extending to Presque Isle, the Shoreline Cultural Trail will feature landmarks with a snapshot of Marquette’s history.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The NMU Police Academy is now over halfway through. Every morning, 20 recruits participate in physical training from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.Instructor and MSP Trooper Evan Fezzat says training occurs in various locations to help recruits become comfortable with different scenarios. Fezzat also says physical fitness is extremely important for law enforcement. The NMU Police Academy graduation is on August 16.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The summer heat is here, and the NMU Music Department has a new concert series to help beat the heat. Starting Tuesday, Summer Concerts at Reynolds will host free concerts with a variety of styles, instruments, and music. Tuesday’s concert starts at 5 p.m., featuring Christopher Schoelen on the classical guitar. Organizer Keri Lee Pierson says she hopes to bring more collaborations and concerts. Shoelen is an instructor at NMU and has been playing guitar for many years.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - From Monday through Thursday, you can catch a musical performance of Bonnie and Clyde. This performance features local performers and a live band. The Big Lake Theatre Company is coordinating the musical. BLTC utilizes props, a small-scale stage, and a small cast to deliver big performances. BLTC Co-owner and Director Amanda Boundy says that many performers play multiple roles simultaneously. Performances are Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Ore Dock Brewing Company.
