Kansas remains in the mix for one of the top players in the transfer portal. On Tuesday afternoon, Washington State transfer Cedric Coward included KU in his top five. The top group includes Alabama, Duke, KU, Florida and Washington. Coward has also declared for the 2025 NBA Draft and is testing the waters, but should he return to college, he has his list of suitors picked out. Coward was off to a hot start in the 2024-25 season before a major shoulder injury ended his season.

Kansas basketball is set to host one of the top high school prospects in the country for an official visit this weekend. According to 247Sports' Eric Bossi, Tyran Stokes will be in Lawrence this weekend. Stokes is the No. 1 player in the 2026 class, which currently consists of high school juniors. The five-star prospect is one of the most coveted players in the country. Bill Self watched Stokes play multiple times last summer and he has remained a target of the KU staff.

Kansas football had over 25 new faces join the program over the winter as Lance Leipold and the KU staff built out the majority of the roster for the 2025 season. Between 21 mid-year transfers and six early enrollees, it was the most newcomers KU has welcomed during the winter under Leipold. Plenty of position groups across the board looked different, as KU is tasked with replacing two-thirds of its two-deep from last season.
