A doctor recently wrote an article communicating his reasonable concerns about technology, deepfakes and risks to how people would judge his reputation. His fear held him back from creating and publishing videos on a major platform. "Misinformation spreads faster than corrections and even if a deepfake were proven false, the damage could already be done,” Mehmet Yildiz stated about his reasoning.

How you check in with your team in the workplace matters more than you think. Recently, a LinkedIn post addressed this point, including offering one bold question. Talking about politics is risky business — emotionally, psychologically and relationship wise, even in the closest of personal relationships. Stress, tension and anger could be high. So maybe, in some cases, refraining from discussing social issues and the politics surrounding them could be protective. Choosing not to converse about sociopolitical topics and the resulting differences of beliefs might feel difficult, if not intolerable, yet it may be workable to keep the peace.

There may be people who wonder if billionaires hire differently than other leaders. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently spoke to Bloomberg’s Emily Chang about what he thinks about — and seeks — when he’s involved in talent acquisition. "If people have shown that they can go deep and do one thing really well, then they've probably gained experience in, like, the art of learning something,” he told Chang. It’s worked well for him and his company. There is good reason for why it does.

Regardless of a person’s sociopolitical positions, restraint is expected when it comes to communicating responsibly about violence. Disturbing social media posts circulated however after the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump's life. Different people boldly expressed their disappointment that the shooter did not succeed at murdering a political candidate while additionally ignoring that an attendee was murdered and two other people were shot and badly injured.

David Kingrea gets $431,266 for being listed on Virginia’s sex offender registry for eight years. Unjustly. The punishment wasn’t a big-enough payment. Yes, that is a very large sum of money. And again, considering the moral crime against this person, it wasn’t a sufficient penalty to the state of Virginia authorities. Positive intent or not, the state’s actions were obnoxiously, egregiously incorrect and sloppy and inflicted tremendous pain on a citizen who should not have been on that list.
