    A two vehicle accident this morning in Berea has resulted in the death of 27-year-old Victoria McQueary. The accident occurred at the intersection of Richmond Road and the Berea Bypass. The area was shutdown due to the crash around 9 am. McQueary, age 27 of Richmond passed away due to blunt force trauma sustained in the accident. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital but there has been no update on them as of time of publication.

    The Fuji BJJ Ohio State Championships took place this past Saturday in Cincinnati, with 10th Planet Richmond making an outstanding impression on the mats. The team claimed the Best Kids Team Award, earning a remarkable 2,940 points—a commanding 8790-point lead over the second-place team. Overall, 10th Planet Richmond won runner up Best Academy combining youth and adult team points. While the entire team performed exceptionally, a few athletes delivered standout performances.

The $17 million project included updating the building to strictly serve judicial functions, adding an extension that includes a carport, and adding secure parking for judges. Updates to the building were also added to bring the structure into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Madison County Judge-Executive Reagan Taylor said.

The draft will likely se changes before being voted on by commissioners but according to the draft it would require owners of vacant properties to register their properties after a certain time.

    The Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a call to assist the DCBS better known as the Department for Community Based Services on January 16, 2025. Deputy Ben Tipton and Sergeant Donovan Nolan responded with DCBS to a possible sexual assault of a juvenile. The initial investigation led to the case being reassigned to Sergeant Paul Lay which led to the issuance of warrants for arrest on Joshua Hacker and Patrick Hacker.
