Hi friends!I am writing from Westmont College where I will be the guest at a debate watch party with Christian college students. Just in case that isn’t enough excitement, I thought we’d host a debate thread, as we have in the past, so that this community can watch this debate together. I’ll login at about 8:45 PM EST, but in the meantime, let us know what you’re looking for tonight. What are you hoping to hear? How are you approaching the debate? With excitement? A sense of obligation? Dread?

Dear friends,I came across this absolutely stunning article from the June 18, 1951 edition of The New York Times, and I just had to share it with you for several reasons:It’s message is timely and incisive. (RNS) — There is a pervasive weariness regarding the upcoming presidential election, the predominant sentiment being something like: I can’t believe we have to do this again. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but yes, we have to do this again. But we do have some control over the experience. We can decide whether the presidential election will simply happen to us, or whether we take it as an opportunity to make ourselves healthier people and possibly lead to a healthier politics.
