Since taking over operations at the Port of Itajaí (SC) in October 2024, JBS Terminaishasinvested some $25 million to position the terminal as one of the leading logistics hubs in southern Brazil and will add a further $16 million for technology and infrastructure.

    The UAE-terminal and logistics company is partnering the Vietnam line in the new domestic sea-river transport route, the Mekong Express, connecting the ports of Can Tho and Cai Mep.  The new service will operate twice a week and reduce transit times of 48 hours by the river ways to just 15 hours via a combination of river and sea routes.  DP World said new service is more sustainable alternative to road transport, generating 60% less carbon emissions.
