    Only weeks after recovering from a previous bout of flooding, McLean County finds many areas and roadways within the county again underwater thanks to the close to seven inches of rain received within the county in the last week. Rain and severe weather conditions moved into the Western Kentucky region on Wednesday, April 2. The National Weather Service (NWS) out of Paducah issued a statement on Monday, April 7, detailing the touchdown of an EF2 tornado in McLean County, near Calhoun.

    Even though Saturday’s record show at the Daviess County Public Library (DCPL) wasn’t supposed to begin until 11 a.m., shoppers showed up early to begin browsing through crates and stacks of vinyl albums. “We had such a successful turnout at our fall record show that we decided to have another show this spring,” said Jarrod McCarty, the library’s community engagement manager. “It really was a no-brainer to return.”McCarty said that more than 300 shoppers showed up for the fall show.

    The Kentucky House Majority Caucus announced Wednesday that House Rep. Jim Gooch has helped to secure $232,325 in infrastructure funding for McLean County. The measure has been approved by both the Kentucky House of Representatives and the Kentucky Senate. The funding is broken down into $140,272 provided to the McLean County Fiscal Court to resurface Hicks Road, which is located off Highway 136 near Livermore.
