    ATLANTIC CITY — The board of the Atlantic City Housing Authority is set to vote Thursday evening on a resolution to increase the allowable payment to Kisby Lees Mechanical LLC from $1 million to $2.5 million. Kisby, of Atlantic City, has been repairing broken and leaking gas pipes at the troubled Stanley Holmes Village complex and other mechanical issues in other properties owned and run by the authority. The board also will vote on a new contract for boiler preventive services and maintenance.

    ATLANTIC CITY — The National Park Service has awarded a $750,000 America’s Treasures Grant to the Absecon Lighthouse for restoration work. “This is a huge step forward toward restoring the Absecon Lighthouse," said Jean Muchanic, executive director of the Inlet Public/Private Association, which manages the lighthouse as an educational venue and tourist attraction. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection owns the Absecon Lighthouse and leases it to the association.

    ATLANTIC CITY — The Atlantic City Joint Municipal Court held an official grand opening Wednesday, eight months after the resort started sharing court services with Pleasantville in the city's Public Safety Building. The merger between the two courts officially took place Jan. 1, Court Director Gina Holmes said. "Basically we are sister cities," Holmes said.

    The Communications Workers of America union has endorsed Democrat Joe Salerno in New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District race. Salerno, 62, an engineer, businessman and lawyer from Lower Township, is running to unseat U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-2nd. “Our endorsement of Joe represents our members’ desire for leaders that respect the people who really drive our economy forward," Dennis Trainor, vice president of CWA District 1, said Wednesday in a news release.
