All three anti-Israel motions presented at the British Medical Association’s annual conference in Liverpool passed on Tuesday with a majority vote. With a total of 45 BMA motions focusing on Gaza, the Jewish Medical Association asked for added security after feeling ‘intimidated and excluded’ at the event. The resolutions, referred to as Motions 41, 42 and 43, have now all been carried and will now become official policy of the BMA policy.

The government of Bosnia-Herzegovina has apologised for the cancellation of a hotel booking for delegates from The Conference of European Rabbis. As reported by Jewish News, the Swissotel in Sarajevo, the country’s capital, withdrew as a venue for the event following an open letter by a Bosnian federal minister stating that the city “must not be a stage for supporting genocide”. Adnan Delic referred to Israel as a “genocidal entity” committing “shameful crimes against humanity”.

A Brighton and Hove memorial for those murdered and taken hostage in the 7 October 2023 Hamas attack on Israel has been vandalised with faeces. Attendees at the nightly vigil at Palmeira Square were confronted with the excrement on Sunday 22nd June, the day that the bodies of three Israeli hostages were recovered from Gaza. The faeces was deliberately left near the photo of Ofra Keidar (71) – one of the hostages whose remains were returned.

Trump says Iran warned US ahead of missile strike on base in Qatar US President Donald Trump claimed Iran gave advance warning before firing missiles at a US military base in Qatar, telling reporters in The Hague: “They said, ‘Is one o’clock okay?’ We said, ‘That’s fine.’”Trump said all 14 missiles aimed at the base were intercepted. The strike, launched Monday, was Iran’s response to US attacks on its nuclear facilities.

Seven IDF soldiers died on Tuesday afternoon after an explosion in an armoured personnel carrier in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. An officer and six regular troops from the 605th Combat Engineering Battalion were killed after an IED (improvised explosive device) was attached to their vehicle by terrorists, who then fled the scene. The explosion set the vehicle on fire and all those inside perished as efforts to extinguish the flames failed. The IDF worked for hours to identify the bodies.
