There are at least five centenarians in King George, according to William Davis, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. Three of them, who are residents of Heritage Hall Nursing Home, were recognized last week with official resolutions from the County celebrating their milestones in life, recognizing their contributions, and offering best wishes. Rose Bacho, age 103, is a recent resident of King George who moved from Williamsburg.

During its May 20th meeting, King George Service Authority discussed a proposed irrigation pilot program that could be implemented to determine the feasibility of offering an irrigation deduction for those utilizing irrigation systems. That deduction would resolve the issue of property owners paying sewer fees for water used in irrigation, which does not enter the sewer system.

"While protecting public safety is honorable, it comes with a cost. First responders have unique job stressors that may increase their risk for suicide. Suicides are a major public health problem according to The Surgeon General's Call to Action…" John Howard, M.D., Director, NIOSH wrote in 2022.
