    Australian singer Nick Cave, of rock band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, visited Lititz recently and wrote about his experience in a blog post on his website. In answering a fan question about how he spent his Sunday, Cave wrote that he walked through downtown Lititz and stopped at Tomato Pie Cafe, at 23 N. Broad St. in Lititz. "The streets were wet and empty, and the sun had finally come out, making it feel like the world was emerging from a less complicated time," Cave writes.

    Before too long, it'll be time to camp out in Long's Park with blankets and chairs in celebration of free music. The Long's Park Summer Music Series returns June 1 and continues weekly at 7:30 p.m. on Sundays through Aug. 17. These concerts return with a new leader at the helm for the Long's Park Amphitheater Foundation: Musician Kristin Chronister is the president of the board of directors and the chair of music this year. She was the chair of music in 2023 and 2024, too.

    Sunday's "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" episode on April 13 featured a little slice of Lancaster County. The talk show's host, comedian John Oliver, told his viewers about General "Mad Anthony" Wayne, citing a story that local history website Uncharted Lancaster posted in 2021. Wayne, a Chester County native, died in Erie in 1796, and was buried there in his military uniform.
