I like to imagine that in some corner of Microsoft, the team responsible for Entra ID, formally known as Azure AD, is caught in a constant state of whiplash. On one hand, they have the unique and undoubtedly fulfilling opportunity to design a next-generation identity infrastructure that learns from and moves beyond the directory sins of the past.
