Driven by regulation, banks are increasingly reluctant to grant senior bridge financings, leading companies to resort to trade credits of major suppliers, such as deferrals or generous payment agreements. But these trade creditors are often unaware of significant third-party liability risks.

By value, TMT deals accounted for 79% of all activity during the first half of the year, helped in large part by Apollo's investment in Intel Corporation which alone accounted for 57%. Indeed seven of the 20 largest transactions of 2024 so far have taken place in the TMT sector, including the top two. Even when looking at deal volumes TMT accounted for more than a quarter of all deals, demonstrating the continued significance of the TMT sector for dealmaking across the market.

This important charity law update relates to the Charities (Amendment) Act, 2024 and will be of interest to all charity trustees and boards of not-for-profit organisations. The Charities (Amendment) Act 2024 ("Charities Amendment Act") was signed into law on 10 July 2024 but has yet to be commenced. Once it is commenced it will introduce a number of changes to the regulation of Irish charities by the Charities Regulatory Authority ("CRA").
